0 A.D.
Tuesday, 23 March 2010 11:48
Chris Tozzi from WorksWithU was kind enough to grant 0 A.D. project leader Erik an interview. Check it out.

Also, we"d like to thank German-language Linux websites ubuntuusers.de and pro-linux.de for their sympathetic write-ups, which have sent a considerable amount of traffic our way. Danke!

Thousand Parsec
Monday, 22 March 2010 10:50
New version to catch up with compilers and changes in the last 3 years. Mostly small things but ezod has rewritten the tokenizing to work better. All 0.1.x releases should be interface compatible. Hopefully documentation makes it in soon. Libtprl 0.1.3 is on the downloads page and will be on alternative hosting shortly. The Git repo is libtprl and the tag is LIBTPRL_0_1_3. Feedback and suggestions are always welcome.

Painted Death music pack re-release
World of Padman
Sunday, 14 March 2010 10:11
Nicola Capecci aka Neurological added two new tracks to his WoP music pack "Painted Death" and re-released it this week. Now it has 9 complete tracks. The new songs "Respawn" and "Water Horizon" fits very well with the album concept and ensures a strong mix of Metal and Hardrock. To update the pack simply download it again and overwrite the old version in your WoP sub-directory.

Meanwhile, Neurological was able to provide a soundtrack for his very first commercial project Dark Salvation. We congratulate him on this opportunity and hope to hear more of his work in other commercial projects soon. If there will be a WoP Soundtrack CD in future definitely some of his tracks will be part of the album.

Goodies, awards and reimplementations
0 A.D.
Saturday, 13 March 2010 01:57
Open source software advocate Kinshuk Sunil from India, who will be presenting 0 A.D. at an OS software unconference called OSS Pilani, tweeted us the following question: "are there any 0ad goodies - stickers/posters/etc - good for give aways?".

We try to accommodate our fans as much as possible, so we put up png and illustrator files of the 0 A.D. and Wildfire Games logos, to help our fans create their own 0 A.D. graphics and schwag. They can be found at the bottom of the Get Involved page. We look forward to your contributions and would love to see what kind of graphics you can make!

In other news, over this last month our programming department has reimplemented death, resource gathering, projectiles and construction, as well as some work on the in-game GUI. This is part of the reimplementation of the Simulation component of the engine behind 0 A.D., Pyrogenesis. (The reimplementation is discussed here.)

Also, the description of winners of Independent Game Festival Awards over at Gamespot makes an interesting read.
