The European Sports League (ESL) has opened signups for the second season of the Urban Terror Team Survivor League. A Match of the week will be held every week and will be GTV broadcasted.
Be sure to grab your spot as soon as possible here, as there will be only 40 slots available for those who would like to compete in the basic-stage and will remain open until the 26th of January! Basic Stage will start immediately after no human intervention is needed to sort out the teams. You can check the status of signups as well as have access to some useful links here. |

The signups for the 8th Urban Zone CTF League and our brand new TS League are now open. We hope that the TS League will be as successful as the CTF league and also create an increase in the amount of ts clans. Signups are, as always, open to everybody, but we will create localized divisions if there are enough clans signed up from one geographical location.
People and clans that want to take part in the TS League will need to register again, we are in the process of going to a newer version of the league management software, sorry for the inconvenience.
Also the winners of the Winter Cup have been announced, Tw// took the gold, |it| silver and [US] bronze.
And don"t forget to idle in #urbanzone on quakenet |

Thanks to your loyal support, 0 A.D. has made it to ModDB"s Top 100 Indie Games of 2009! This is the second time in a row this has happened, as we made the 8th place in 2008, and it shows that lots of people share our enthusiasm about 0 A.D., which is great news.
But we don"t want to settle for the top 100. We want to win! Or at least reach one of the top 3 places in our category. This is important, because projects that win these awards usually get more contributor applications. That means more developers working to finish the game you can"t wait for, which means you get to play the game sooner! So we"d like to ask you to take one more step to contribute to spreading the word about 0 A.D. and vote again.
Here"s how you can help:
1. Register for an account with ModDB if you don"t have one yet. Not only does this benefit us, but grants you access to one of the most active indie development communities on the internet.
Remember: Your vote doesn"t count unless you have an account!
2. Open this page, scroll down to "Best Upcoming Mods and Indies" and click on "Indie Games":

Then, next to 0 A.D., click on "Vote":

We"re counting on you guys. Together we can make it happen. Thanks in advance! |

This is what happens if you try to do too many things at once.It has been almost two years since the last news update. Even worse, there hasn't been a lot of progress during that time. Overwhelmed by the sheer amount of work that still needs to go into TnL and having trouble finding the motivation to work on such a large project in my increasingly valuable free time, development has almost completely stalled. I'm a professional software developer and working on software problems half the day makes me reluctant to spend the other half in front of a computer, too.And yet I miss the countless hours spent tweaking missile guidance, enhancing enemy AI, designing futuristic aircraft, writing graphics shaders and creating my own world. It has always been a very creative process. But then there are a lot of cumbersome tasks like maintaining a build system for several target architectures, dependency management and software packaging. I also failed at maintaining a web site. My apologies for the spam-ridden forum which is completely unusable at the moment. Those are what kept me from continuing to work on TnL. In order to get back on track, I must leave some these tasks... |
